Now you can just STOP LYING RIGHT NOW because the devil IS a liar!!
We have ALL been there at some point, and don't you sit there and tell me you haven't...jealous of something, someone, or a situation. But I'm just going to serve as a reminder for you this morning and tell you that LOVE IS NOT JEALOUS! You heard me right! It's day THREE of the love challenge, and we all could use a little reminder that love is not JEALOUS! Jealousy is one of those ugly emotions that can just sneak right up on you, but we have to be bigger than the enemy and learn to recognize when we are dwelling on the blessings of someone else instead of our own. When we hear good news about someone that challenges our personal security and confidence in life, we immediately begin to compare ourselves to others, and that just invites the spirit of jealousy right on in. DO NOT EVEN START THE PROCESS! When you start to compare yourselves to others, you begin to think their blessings outweigh yours; this is a dangerous thing to do. Be confident and be grateful in Christ knowing that He knows the plans He has for each and every one of you. Your blessings are meant for you, and the other person's blessings are meant for them. The spirit of jealousy can be contagious. When we start gossiping about the person over here and the person over there, our children hear us. Children too experience jealousy at a young age whether you believe it or not. Mr. President #1 recently came up to me and said, "Mommy, I don't like my bike. I wish I had a bike like his." This right here is nothing but the spirit of jealousy. Mr. President #1 no longer wanted the brand new bike we bought for him because he saw something someone else had. We need to be better examples for those little ones; teach them to rid themselves of those jealous emotions, and appreciate everything God has blessed them with. When it's all said and done, things could be so much worse, but I sure am glad they aren't. I challenge you to rid yourself of the spirit of jealousy and envy today, and practice some true love. Be confident in your appearance, your accomplishments, where you live, what car you drive, and where you are in life. Compliment someone else today, continue to do the right thing, and in His time, God will pour out a blessing for you. Go out and kill that envious spirit! Check in tomorrow for your focus for day four of the Love Challenge! GOD luck!! For additional information about the challenge, visit Church of the Redeemer.
